Using Lumbar Pillows and Other Effective Ways to Prevent Back Pain

Apart from lumbar pillows which are great in helping people preventing and relieving lower back pain, there are many ways you can do to overcome your back problems. Back pain is very common among many people but if these people know the ways to prevent it from happening, the statistic can definitely be lowered. Back pain can be caused by many different factors and if you were to simply do something differently, you would be able to lesson the pain while prevent it from happening again after you have recovered.

No matter if it is due to our job requirement or any other factors, as long as you have to spend a very long time in a sitting position, it can be bad for your lower back especially if your posture is incorrect. Back pain can also be cause by being overweight. Although back pain and being overweight are related, it does not mean that you will definitely be suffering from back pain if you are overweight or your back pain is definitely due to being overweight. No matter if the pain is due to excessive weight, losing your body weight is always better for your health.

Your back will certainly have to work a little harder with the excessive weight on your body. Your spine will have the tendency to buckle or even worst, compress with the extra body weight. If you are really overweight, it is time to lose some weight for the sake of your back as well as your overall health. 

Do you know that dehydration can cause back pain? Dehydration leads to backaches and it is very bad for your body system. A person who is seriously dehydrated can become unconscious and one’s body organs may be easily damaged due to shortage of water. Drink plenty of water; at least 8 glasses of pure water a day so that your body systems can function properly and efficiently, and at the same time, you can prevent back pain.

Beside lumbar pillows, losing weight and drinking plenty of water, there are in fact many other ways like Pilates and yoga to prevent and reduce back pain. Developing good habits to take care of your back is vital. If you know you have been seated for quite a while, you should stand up and simply do some gentle stretching to relax your muscles. Slight changes like these allow you to lead a better quality life.
